Oh my goodness, this was absolutely precious! I loved the story bits, and the music and drawings were both just lovely. So excited to see how this develops!
I'd say there's a lot of spoilers around: the description, the gifs, arguably even the tooltips are unnecessary. Luckily I finished the game before I noticed any of them. Took about 10-15 minutes. Here's my experience:
Loved the prototype. It doesn't hold your hand, it has this "you'll figure it out approach", a nice fit for its chill, casual style. It's diverse and has a fair share of exceptions and "one time onlys". It encourages experiments and discovery.
The puzzles are all very sensible and logical. It's all "it doesn't fit here, it's missing there", no random clicking all around required, so typical for point-and-click games.
This is exactly the type of game I'd give my kids to play (if I had any, lol). I definitely plan on buying if you release DRM free on itch.
Was unable to beat the game for quite a while, then I found out you could open the windows of some of the buildings and finally found what I was missing! This game is very fun and I would love if it was expanded upon and made into a longer game.
Hey, I think you have a great demo out there! But I would like to share few of my thoughts on the potential improvements. First of all, I hope you will add a touchpad and touchscreen support, cause I played on my laptop while using a touchpad and it wasn`t the greatest experience ever, due to the poor scrolling. Secondly, I faced some performance, not issues but rather concern that it used so much of a cpu load, I don`t know your inner workings, but it feels to me like it can be greatly improved. And lastly, I would like to suggest to animate cats somehow so you can differentiate more easily which ones have already been spotted, like with all the other objects, but I can`t tell if that was intentional or not)
Overall, chill vibe, cozy visuals, nice tune and sound effects that fit right in, loved it, thanks for the demo!
I loved it. I would definetly play another level! I think adding some hints could help, but limitated. Like, maybe you hace to find a type of "Hint activator" before using them.
Very chill and comfy. Currently only missing Ricky's book so my request would be adding an optional hint system people can use when stuck on something.
Very relaxing and enjoyable game. However there are some things I'd like improved:
- Show some people biking along the road instead of only cars going past.
- Include some way to be able to view the previous hint for each activity
- Make the movable object hitboxes and things slightly bigger for accessibility
- It would be awesome to have touchscreen support, and support for Android/iOS/iPadOS so I could give this game to my children. Some people may appreciate removing the nudity elements as the rest of the game is well suited for children.
The ending said 'demo', so is there a larger game planned? I would totally buy and play it, I've loved this game so far :3
The art style is really cute, and I think it's so cool that most things are jiggling around.
the only feedback i have is that it took me a bit of time to figure out i could do more than just "click". like with the tree/ball and windows. so if you could find a way to make it more clear that clicking and dragging or holding the button down is another way you can interact with the world?
would definitely play a full game. especially on mobile, it feels made for touchscreen.
I was also unable to play in the browser. I use Firefox. The loading bar would appear and fill up, but then when it disappeared, the screen stayed black. Music would play, and if I clicked, I would hear the interactions with items, but I couldn't see anything. So I just downloaded the game instead and it worked fine.
hmm... i can picture you guys doing an aquarium. like with those underwater viewing tunnels. if you want to go full-on Where's Waldo, a public musical performance in a natural auditorium (those big sloping bowls) would be a real visual pleasure to scoot around in - since it naturally arcs into a panorama, and has potential nature scenery.
i think it would also be immensely radical to mask up more people in a crowd, or show blowing fans + breezes. your fantasy of a safe crowd doesn't need to be removed from reality. making it chill might even save lives. for one thing: people went masked in public *all the time* pre-corona, and no one questioned it. let's go back to that?
it'd also be hilarious to knock on someone's window and have something break the fourth wall by looking back. hehehe
appreciated very much that this didn't disappear upon solving, instead of end-screen-bye after showing us a cool sandbox.
some nippy nits: as a point-and-click maven, you do not want to bring back pixel-hunting. bad, bad. destroys the chill. especially on the return. whatever active area you've got on returns, make it larger. moving objects also need to be more forgiving, for accessibility.
speaking of accessibility, *all* the important interactions need a visual cue. most of them do, but it's worth checking.
but the most crucial pick is that sometimes you find the object before reading the clue, and then the clue disappears... which not only did you miss as a player, but also contains important context for the return. i highly recommend somehow keeping the clue available. linearity isn't going to be guaranteed in your format.
I really enjoyed it. The music was so soothing. If you created more levels and lovely lofi tracks, it'd be wonderful. But I love the cute style of the world and inhabitants, along with the adorable grooving animations. I liked how bright and colorful it was and the diverse kinds of people depicted. The mild nudity tickled me, as it was also cute and charming. Very relaxing to play, though some of the controls for manipulating the windows was a bit difficult in the browser version. Also, a hint button with a little shimmer around the section of an object would be a nice quality of life, for though of us that have brains that struggle late at night. 😂
It was really good and a little bit more advanced than these hidden object games usually are. i liked it. pls release a full verison to steam!! reminds me of lost and found co. 10/10 cozy and all
Very cute and charming. I love the little details like the people squeaking when you click them, or being able to push the kid on the swing, etc. I'd love to see an option for keyboard controls for the camera. Looking forward to more!
cute and fun! I like how you have to find the objects first, then use them somewhere in the map! The lofi soundtrack is also very nice!
Some feedback:
I think you should also include a draggable object tutorial in the very beginning as well, like you did with the hot dog on top of the car. Maybe something to show you can open windows by dragging?
For the collection ones like the birds, watermelon, or trashcans, that works well because they go away or are picked up upon finding them. But for the cat collection, I found myself forgetting which cats I had already found. So maybe some sort of visual indicator on the cat itself that I found it? Could be a UI thing like a checkmark right by the cat, or a sprite change, like the cat could disappear, or maybe a collar is added? just something to differentiate it visually from cats I had already found.
I forgot how to access hints and did the game without them, could that bit be put into the little "?" popup as well?
I'm looking forward to the full game! This is very cool!

Please changed move camera button. RMB opens menu in browser.
It's an adorable game, 10/10, maybe we can go full Where's Waldo style with an amusement park or a camping ground?
It's such a cute game! I loved it!
